PS3 will not play games

my ps3 will play dvds but not games, does anybody know why?

Are you getting an error when you attempt to play the game, or is it crashing? Or simply not detecting the disks at all?

well i start the ps3 and everything is fine, i try to play on my games which are blu-ray and they do not work. howerver if i play dvds the disc is read and it will play.
