Re: Making a House a Home - A Guide to Personal Spaces

I put the solar system in the Neptune Suite.  That helped fill it up!

WOW, you've really made some beautiful spaces! Nice one!

But as a response to the proper designer perfection I'd like to say that for me, my home in Home is living the post-apocalyptic dream of being one of the few left on the planet and making the most of the forgotten things I find (Tho to be honest, most of the things I've bought...)

It doesn't all have to be neat and tidy to be homely...

+ Throw things around.

+ Stack 'em high!

+ Make a mess!

Whatever style you choose, make it yr own!

Re: Making a House a Home - A Guide to Personal Spaces

Thread resurrection time........

Having gotten all the furniture from the Dream Yaught and a few other places, I decided to re-visit some of my older Personal Spaces to see if I could give then a fresh new look. Especially now with the increased limit.

Here is what I came up with.

Harbour Studio

Studio 01

Studio 92

Studio 03

Studio 04

Summer House

Summer 01

Summer 02

Summer 03

Summer 04

City Penthouse - Still the hardest place to decorate I think. Small, long, dark areas

City 01

City 02

City 03

City 04

I hope people like them, and maybe get some inspiration for their own places.

It's been fun.

Now... where did I put that Neptune Suite............

Re: Making a House a Home - A Guide to Personal Spaces

I went a bit above the norm with my Harbor Studio apartment and made it into a junk yard!  I piled everything I can imagine in a heap in the middle of the room, cars included in a jumbled up mass of chairs, tables, ornaments, sofas, room dividers, just about everything that is allowed to fit in a space. I call it "Uncontrolled Chaos" Reminds me of the California Freeway!....  Friends think its neat, we dance there to old Led Zeppelin songs and sip cool aide spiked with rum and chat online, remembering the good ol' days.....I'm looking for a good Home......lol

Wow Tech, I'm impressed. Tell me though, do you work in a bar, or just drink in one a lot? lol, I'm kidding. I really like the use you've gotten out of the Yacht furniture (starting to wish I had that fishtank (note to self: STOP BUYING FISHTANKS!!)) and I really like the pegasus statue in the Penthouse garden. I'll have to transfer some of my apartment pics over to my PC and show them off too. I really like those shelving units you have (Yacht?) and the counter-tops with strip lights (also yacht?).

One thing I have noticed though, is that everyone seems to have a paricular way of placing their seating, and never stray from the formula. I'm guilty of this too (I go for the off-set angle look). Weird huh?

Thanks KrazyFace, glad you like them.

Yes, most of it is the Yacht stuff, and I know exactly what you mean about re-using the same seating set up...

But it just sort of.... happens, with the yacht sofas. It's almost like they have a will of their own.

Would love to see what you, and other folks, have come up with in their places.

I have other images of these and other apartments in this thread.....

.... 'cause I can just post images......no theory or guides needed.....
