guenivere_401 wrote:OK here goes: Installment #2 on the New Casino location,Blackjack game earlier was posted in another thread.
started out with 327 chips; In approximately 57 hands played at the min bet of 25 chips each; the
House; in this case,(dealer) or Sony.com, won 17 hands either by blackjack or equaled number Toward the end of the total game play; the blackjack game suddenly just stops, because the computer is re-cycling. The average of the players time at the table is computed and found to be at it's maximum allowable time, so the game finally continues..BUT.. a bet of 25 chips is already in play and the player has cards amounting to 10 (blackjack is 21)
2 of the players get tired of waiting for the game to begin again so they leave, finally the game will ONLY allow you to signify "hold" you cannot ask for another card (which is a violation of blackjack rules- u should be allowed to ask for another card) Finally after a significant wait..the game resumes because it has now re-cycled; but mysteriously, your balance has been reduced by the 25 chips that was somehow hanging out there in limbo?..so now you have a total of only 26 chips remaining - so u play ur final hand of amazingly--- the dealer/house is dealt a 21 blackjack winning hand!.. result, after this run of play u have been reduced from 327 chips to 1 chip ...hmmmm...whats wrong with this picture?....the 2 people that left come back obviously they went out and bought more chips at $0.99 a pop for 500 (the minium amt- this is a guess)... you cant play anymore cause you've lost everything, and the game then merrily continues on, sucking the rest of the players chips down, down down, until they also loose all their chips. NOW: of course; a person can quit anytime they want and take whatever they have left to go play Big Wheel or Slots or Casino War, and loose there also.
You say ok so what- its all fun right?... wrong...this is gambling, Las Vegas style, on Playstation Home Network where anybody of ANY age can play this and be taken for all their these so-called chips- result- they go back and buy more at $0.99 a pop for min of 500 (you can buy as many as 40,000 for $49.95, and just as quickly loose all 40,000 )
So how can this be a better game and serve PS HOME users more equitably?....Gee, lets see- oh I know- how about at the beginning of each week, they give u back the 500 + chips you have already bought (or more)
because after all, this is something you have purchased just like a furniture, or clothing item for your avatar ?
Las Vegas style gambling DOES NOT belong on Playstation Home Network. True- they do "give-u" a t shirt and a nifty little silver dollar a potted plant for your scummy little motel room that also is "complimentary" There's nothing wrong with having this Casino location IF its operated fairly for Home users, but clearly this is a money-making gold mine mini -game that they have hit on here. Simple arithmetic: $0.99 a week (500 chips) X 4 is $3.96 X a potential 12 months (1 year) $47.52 [per person average] X an estimated 30,000 users, annually = $1,425,600 and this is a conservative figure, tip of the ice berg. and for that, the users get a a couple of other realty T shirts and some other trinkets for their avatar and of course a beautiful stained bath tub in their shoe-box size motel room site. Whats next? Casinos in Atlantic City, Miami, off-shore yachts, Monte Carlo?... all great ideas mind you, but lets take the blatant money-making out of the equation that is painfully evident if anybody just sits down and thinks about it... lol

Thank you EdwCarnby for responding to the comments over the weekend for me you seem to hit the nail on the head in most cases
But to just go a bit further and have my own tuppence worth I may as well respond to some myself too and
To be honest I'm left a bit confused by some of the comments in here recently as I'm finding it hard to actually read and make sense. For the benefit of us all reading what you have to say, let's do our upmost not to use any txt speak eh? ![]()
From what I can gather the-extreme900 you are having problems with men\boys on Home. Not a lot I can do about that really lol. Perhaps just block and ignore those that annoy you.
guenivere_401 Although the title of the topic is some what ambiguous, I think after reading the OP you should soon come to realise what the topic is all about. Thus your reply is indeed off topic and has no place in this thread and as EdwCarnby mentioned, this is currently not a problem for us SCEE PlayStation peeps as we don't even have the space yet
Feel free to make a thread of your own if wanting to discuss anything out of topic but perhaps if it's SCEA related you maybe best suited in the American forums.
