After years of diet pepsi and brown sauce staining I had it done at the dentist today and it's flipping killing, I'm taking Ibuprofen then Paracetamol two hours later and I've still got a gob full of tooth ache.
They slapped this stuff on my teeth (peroxide?) and blasted it with a light for three 15 mins sessions and it was fine, a little sensitivity and then nothing afterwards. I got a couple of zingers in the first hour afterwards then fine again, then a few hours later came the pain. The dentist said if I get pain it will only last 24 hours, maybe 48 but just spam it every two hours with alternate Paracetamol and Ibuprofen for maximum pain relief.
And the treatments only half way done, you have to carry on at home for another week using a rubber mould of your teeth which covers them squirted with a whitening solution, is this going to be a week of misery?
300 sovs for a mouthful of agony, the price we pay for vanity.

And that is why you brush your teeth.

Is it supposed to hurt?
Yes, with varying degrees of susceptibility.
You have to sign a consent form which warns about the possibility of pain.

Fizzy drinks don't affect teeth at all.

Yeah it's just logical as well, the drink washes straight past your teeth for about a second, while sugary foods you'll chew for a while and some will inevitably get caught in your teeth too.

Stop drinking fizzy drinks, there's your answer.
All I drink is water or squash. Yeah squash has got just as much sugar in, but it doesn't stick to your teeth so you feel all the sugar on your teeth.
It's not just fizzy drinks, it's anything acidic.
Fruit and fruit juice is also acidic and can also damage your teeth.
