Hi Guys,

Started having progressive freezing and disc read error messages and basically now cannot get on at all without the PS3 crashing.

Although my disc appears scratch free it does the same in my brothers machine too though I haven't got another MW3 disc to try. All my other games and Blu rays are fine

I've read somewhere that buying a new disc may not correct the issue, but I've tried all the deletions and resets recommended without success. What is the truth behind these comments can anyone enlighten me

Now, possibly stupid question but, If I buy an new disc will my map pack one work with it i.e. the BLES code and if not what do I do to rectify. I'm annoyed that I'll have to buy a new disc I certainly don't want to have to pay for DLC again.

Not condoning this but

Rent another copy of the game and if that works return your original

Just been online to activision. Thought I should go to the source!  They are sending a replacement disk. It is costing £12, but not unreasonable given I I could have damaged the disk ( v unlikely but possible). hopefully this will solve the issue.

Are you 1975 born? hope your reactions haven't slowed as much as mine LOL (1974!)

They have mate. In fact switched to Battlefield just for a bit slower paced game to give me a chance

Its just not fair, we finally get to the days of big TV's, great graphics, and not loading from cassette or floppy; and all I can do now is run my character round like headless chicken and get shot to sh*t.

Haven't tried BF series yet may give that a go next

I'm a convert. got bored with COD after MW2. Blops was ok but didnt even bother with MW3 as just seemed same old same old.
